Do I need to take herbs for my acupuncture treatment?
No, taking herbs is not compulsory for acupuncture treatments. However, having herbs can complement your treatment. It helps you achieve the optimum results faster.
Do I need to boil my own herbs for treatments?
No, you do not need to boil your own herbs for treatments. Our herbs come in the form of granules, pills and capsules, so you will not need to do any boiling.
How soon can I expect to see results from acupuncture?
Depending on your condition, patients may be able to notice results after their first session. In the case of chronic conditions, it may be necessary to attend the clinic weekly for 4-6 weeks until the condition has significantly improved. After that, the frequency of treatments may be spread out to every 2nd week, once a month or once every 2 months.
Are there any side effects associated with acupuncture?
Generally, acupuncture is considered a safe procedure with minimal side effects. Some people may experience minor bruising at the site of the needles, or a sense of lightheadedness after the session. It is important to inform your practitioner of any side effects you have experienced after receiving acupuncture so your next treatment can be tailored accordingly.
Does acupuncture hurt?
Acupuncture needles are very thin and most people do not feel any discomfort. Some people may feel a slight pinch when the needle is inserted, but the sensation quickly subsides and many patients feel a deep sense of relaxation during the treatment
Do you accept insurance?
Yes, we accept insurance plans from many providers. We offer HICAPS at the clinic. It is important to note different providers offer different amount of rebate. Please contact us for more information about specific insurance coverage.
